Effective date: May 14, 2026
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Poromics platform ("Service") operated by Poromics Inc. ("we", "us", or "our"), a company incorporated in Canada. By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
The Service is currently offered as a beta product. As a beta service, we are actively developing and refining our infrastructure, including load balancing, traffic management, and resource allocation. As a result:
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant disruptions but are not liable for any losses arising from beta-period service degradation.
The Poromics platform provides a web-based interface to a suite of open-source scientific computing packages, each licensed under the MIT License. While we work to integrate and present these tools as effectively as possible:
Your use of any results generated by the Service is entirely at your own risk.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.
Our business is incorporated and operated in Canada. However, the cloud computing infrastructure we use to provide the Service — including compute nodes and storage — is distributed globally across multiple jurisdictions. By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent that your data, including any files you upload, may be processed and stored on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States, the European Union, and other regions.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. For further details, see our Privacy Policy.
As part of our beta program, we reserve the right to contact you directly via the email address associated with your account to solicit feedback on your experience with the Service, to notify you of significant changes, or to provide support-related communications. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contacting us, though transactional and account-related emails are not optional.
Any feedback you voluntarily provide to us may be used to improve the Service without any obligation of compensation or confidentiality to you.
The Poromics name, logo, website design, and proprietary software components are the intellectual property of Poromics Inc. and are protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws. The open-source components used within the Service remain the property of their respective authors and are licensed under their original terms.
You retain ownership of any data you upload to the Service. By uploading data, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL POROMICS INC., ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify registered users via email. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
